venitian blondes

WOW guys I am in Venice!! Actually, that was yesterday. I lied. (i tend to be disoriented these days) Today I am in Nice, France. (pronounced niece). The beach here is a bright, teal blue and beautiful. We took a train to a nearby city called Cannes to use their beach because it was less rocky. What a suprise that was! We saw many sunbathing women with their bikini tops completely off, some of them posing and taking pictures. Many of them were swimming freely in the water, and many were simply basking in the sun. I'm sure the guys in our group enjoyed it. :P
We visited the lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous tonight...Monaco. Wow. Everyone was staring at us because we didn't fit in. I probably saw about 3 other people there in jeans besides us...everyone was dressed very fancy and rich. There were tons of yachts and the hotels were extravagant. The whole place was beautiful, but I wouldn't necessarily want to live or visit there for too long. Too ritzy.
Venice was amazing and I would love love love to go back there. It was everything I imagined and more!! There were fancy gondolas with italian men in striped black and white shirts playing the accordian and singing in them, there was laundry hanging across the canals from window to window, and there was gelato galore! The whole city was so original and breathtaking. Definitely my favorite individual city we have visited.
I really can't talk for too long and update, but I am excited to go back to the beach tomorrow! I really am having the time of my life. When all is said and done, I am glad I came. I'd love to come back and visit certain cities one day. Each city has its own flavor and I'd go there for different occassions. It has been interesting to classify and label each city in my head. I must say, I have never been hit on by so many men of different races, shapes, sizes, and ages until I came to Europe. Apparently anyone is free game to them. (I must confess one day I got into a public bathroom for free because I smiled at the guy. Sometimes it's worth it to be blonde and American...saves me 60 cents!!)
I love you all!

I love hearing about all these amazing places. I guess the movies are pretty accurate. Venice sounds so romantic, it's amazing how romantic a laundry line can be when it is flowing in the breeze of Venice.

Brian wants to know why you're excited to go back to the beach!!! I always thought the laundry lines were only in the movies--how cool is that that they really do use them? I'm glad you used your charm to save yourself 60 cents for the bathroom--smart thinking!

Courtney--Venice was so amazing! Girls, beg your husbands to take you there on a romantic getaway. Even if it is for your 25th wedding anniversary when you'll actually be able to afford the gondolas and fancy meals.
Mackenzie--I'm excited for the beach because I want to get tan! I am so white it's not even funny. I am scared that somehow I'm albino. And yes, they really use the laundry lines. I'm sure it saves a lot of electricity!!

I'll try to talk to you all tomorrow on my layover! no guarantees...:)
