this week, it’s seemed like tyler and i have been counting down the days til thanksgiving break. just one more school day and then we leave to warmer weather! (actually, i can’t complain...it’s been quite mild here. The snow hasn’t even hit and I still wear light jackets.)
For the update this week...
we lost the BYU-UTAH game because max hall (tyler would yell in the background right here, “epic fail!!”) turned over the ball six times. SIX times.
but on to the more important things in life...
i got a 96% on my history of graphic design test!!
the ‘naked indian’ statue on campus got all wrapped up for the winter—or for the Utah game this week. (it’s hilarious to overhear freshman talking about the plastic-wrapped statues—“aw, look how cute! they’re protecting them from the snow!”
one of the grad students that works in my office brought his little guy, lucas, in for paula and i to babysit. he absolutely loved paula! he was fine with me too, (meaning he didn’t cry), but i’m still convinced babies don’t like me. hopefully one day that will change!
aaaaaaaand...we got housing! after putting much time into considerably stressing over housing, living at the colony has really paid off. because jason (the owner) and rachel and jp (the office managers) love us and know i’ve got a good rental history, i convinced them to just bypass all the other applicants for a basement apartment and pick us. really, in the end, it worked to both of our favors. they didn’t have to make fourty-two phone calls regarding rental history, and tyler and i had to look no further for a place to live. :)
it’s small and has an awkward floor plan with practically no kitchen, but we’re happy. the rent is a good price, and the second bedroom will really come in handy for a baby room. (JUST KIDDING!) (no, really...just kidding. no babies until we graduate.)
go to this link to take a virtual tour. (and to answer mom’s question, no the crib is not included in the spare bedroom!)

i got really excited on this post because i applied my typography skills! when i normally type this, i just use the standard apostrophe, ' and ". but we learned in my class those are WRONG, so now throughout my daily life i notice all the typographic errors people make. it fascinates me. the right ones look like this: ‘ and “. so using several combinations of option-shift-[, i redid them all throughout the post. and no one will notice except for me, but inside, i’m content. :)

Congratulations on finding housing. You'll always hold a special place in your heart for your first apartment.
I have always wondered if I was just using the wrong font to get the special " and "...you'll have to show me the real way to do it! We're excited to get a new microwave.
